There are different regional yields in Pakistan per farmland, usually 2500 Kgs – 2800 Kgs on per hectares bases and there are thousands of farmlands in Sindh, Punjab and small scale industry in Baluchistan provinces of Pakistan. It is then gathered and brought to junction points like Vihari, Multan, Patoki, Hyderabad, Haitri and suburbs villages which then connects to urban metropolitan city of Karachi having access to sea and airports.
Perennial plant is harvested throughout the year and spring and summer are the best times in terms of blossom full. The color of the petals does change dew to weather, due factor and of course the UV light intensity of the sun. The distinct natural fragrance is a reflection of sticky and nutritional soil with gust of Arabian Sea winds.

Drying: There are quite a few methods used globally to dry the delicate petals but Open Air Drying is widely used in Pakistan primarily because of reduced operational cost but also to keep the product sustainability and organic attributes intact and of course reduced carbon footprints.
Fresh rose flowers are spread under the UV filters for drying, instead of exposing directly to sunlight which reduces petal’s natural color and flavor. It is indeed a very delicate process because the flowers are about 80-85% of water and hence the moisture content plays a vital role in bacterial formation as well as over drying leads to discolor and reduced shelf life risks.
At KARUBAR, we have a drying capacity of spreading 75,000 KGs of fresh flowers – one batch takes 4-5 days for drying.
Total drying, cleaning and packing process lead time is 20-25 days.
